And I have unfortunately got to go back to 56K snail pace again for a few
months.....
Moving into tempory accomodation and do not want to sign the minimum terms
on BT.
When you get broadband you will never look back.

Why do you think I have Nathan? Got him on the turbo, wired up to produce
electricity as he pedals. Easy peasy!
It's slightly more efficient than the hamster running on a wheel ;-)

Why do you think they've been training Nathan up? Pedal harder Nathan,
the screens going a bit dim.......

How old is Nathan now .... he must have grown since I saw him in Paris ....
before you know it he'll be like me at that age when cars and girls caused a
temporary pause in my cycling activity ... for about 30 years!

He's almost 17 and he's well taller than his Dad & taller than me too. As
yet, he's not showing overt interest in either the opposite sex, or the same
sex for that matter, and is far more interested in bikes. No doubt that will
change and I have the embarassing baby photos saved ;-)

When you get broadband you will never look back.
Sign up with someone else then. BT is a dreadful supplier anyway, and
companies like MetroNet and Eclipse offer one month terms.

Remember "Meet Mike - he swims like a fish?"
The young lad may not be all that daft after all.

It was, but not out here InTheMiddleOfNowhere!

However, the data still has to come down a BT line (Or Telewest if that
is an option, though the contract terms are the same!).

It was available here, but I was too lazy/mean/apathetic. Now I can chat
while David loads things onto his website and look at my news groups
when my phone conversations get dull...

Edgware.
Hope you get it faster than us. It took about 5 hrs on the phone and
three engineer visits. A customer service assistant, who was also an
engineer had the same problem as us and let us in on the secret.
IF you have an ISDN line split on your main line then they have to
change the "DAC" which splits the signal because the originals are
cheap and incompatible. Once this single nugget of info is known, all
else went smoothly. My ISDN line was for work, and will now be
decommissioned.
Of course prior to that, the new iMac had no trouble connecting via a
neighbours WIFI.
