Someone spilt treacle down the back of Tiscali's news server about four months ago. It just crawls
at unbearably slow speeds for about a quarter of every day, though it's not easy to predict which
quarter it might be on any given day. I've complained several times to their support staff but they
don't give a flying one about usenet - take a look at the support section of the Tiscali web site
and there's no mention of NNTP at all. The best they could come up with was something along the
lines of "there must be a lot of traffic at the moment. Try later." which, to me, sounds too much
like "F*** off. Usenet is dead. The Web is all that matters now. We don't care." Tossers.
We just flipped our broadband trigger here, so I'm looking forward to using that as an excuse to
change my ISP in a couple of months and telling Tiscali to go F*** themselves.

That's where I read my news now. I don't use it to post, though, since they demand a 'proper' email
address and I gave them one that I don't want to be spammed on. I must sort this out soon.
