20 plus fecking years go by and I'm thinking I'm finally
done with the past. Surely it can't come back and haunt
me any more.
I was rummaging through the basement throwing out old things
to make way for the new things, when....Holy sonofabitch!
How in the world did this go unnoticed for that long.
Instantly my hands began to shake, face became tight, lips
numb, chills set in soon after.
Throw it out. Don't look at it. The past is dead. This must
be a joke. Could someone have planted this? Just a few of my
1000 thoughts.
Hell it has to be rotten, it can't possibly be good after
all these years. Just put it in the trash and be done with
it, no one new then and nobody has to know now.
Memories bad and good, friends and face passed through
my mind. The pleasure then the pure pain when it's
done and gone.
Yes, yes, yes. I was weak....very weak indeed. So I injected
that damn cassette into my player. Dead Kennedys. Plastic
Surgery Disasters! It was cued up to Forest Fire. If ever a
bass line could be called sarcastic this was it. Warmness
overcame my body, I know there will be hell to pay in 30
minutes when it's over but wtf, my ears drums needed a good
beating and my mind freed. Crank it up! That's just what I
did on the way to work today.
Can't wait to get to the other side of that tape.
Got some good tunes in my head for this weekend.
Peace, Bill The mind serves properly as a window glass
rather than as a reflector, that is, the mind should give an
immediate view instead of an interpretation of the world.
