    A friend recently returned from France and brought me a
    lovely tablecloth=
    =20
    and matching napkins. (Yea, I know, reminds me of a joke,
    too!) The care=20 instructions use 'international' symbols
    instead of words to indicate how=
    =20
    to care for them. (100% cotton)

    1. a basin-looking symbol with a ripple across the tope
    and a'60'=20 inside. Ok, I got this one - wash in
    60=BA C water.

    2. A triangle with a big "X" through it. Whatever this
    means, I'm not=20 supposed to do it. Anyone have a clue
    what that might be?

    3. A square with a circle in it - I'm assuming this
    is a dryer.

    4. An iron - Ok, I got this one too

    5. A circle with another big "X" through it. Something
    else I'm not=20 supposed to do that I don't have a
    clue about.

    I'm guessing one of these symbols (based on the order given,
    I=20 guess that would be the triangle) refers to bleach but
    that's more=20 instinct than anything else.=20

    Anyone know what these supposedly intuitive symbols mean?

    Hm. I'm not sure about that one. Most of the labels in NZ
    have actual words on them.
