Ken Davey, but could find nothing about him. Did his cancer return?
He was such a sincere and caring guy. All were a great loss.

I wish I could recall the specifics about Ken. I searched this ng using the
dreaded Google interface but the last thing I found about Ken was he was
feeling better and taking some trips. I seem to have a vague recollection

    Strange...

I'm not sure exactly what she posted, but I'll try to recap...

She said you have been sick and haven't told anyone you little turd. AND
you haven't returned any of my emails. Hell, I haven't heard from you
since you moved. Perhaps you don't want to talk to me anymore?

Last Monday David had surgery for a total knee replace.

Cheesus... Poor David. Gaw... I'll bet that is painful. Give him a hug

My situation was rather a surprise to me!

Mmmmm... Hmmm... I know the feeling.

I guess I'm quite lucky that I didn't have a heart attack or stroke.

Yep. I've had 2 heart attacks and a TIA. Interesting thing is I didn't
realize I was having them. I just felt "funny". The TIA was different.
I felt "funny" again but Steven took me to the hospital. I was in the
hospital for 3 days. I chalked it up to being at Margaret's the month
    before 😉

    Quoted message said:

After they implanted two stents, though, full circulation was restored.

Mine are so blocked stents are not possible.

    Quoted message said:

More recently I did a classic no-no, lifting a heavy box while bending
over and turning at the same time. I tore 3 ligaments in my lower
back and compressed 2 disks. David and I are quite a sight! Two old
farts on two walkers! <G> Supposedly, my injury should heal on its
onw in a month or so, but it sure hurts like hell.

Mmmm hmmmm. I do [censored] I'm not supposed to all the time. Jumping my horse
is a big no-no and I do it almost daily. Christy [censored] at me every
time I talk to her about the jumping. I took a bad fall last spring and
tried to hide it from everyone. That didn't last long. Steven ferreted
out why I could barely walk and really let me have it. Pffffftttt... I
only got one life, I'll live it my way. He can be such a crab.

    Quoted message said:

As to my absence... Since we moved in late December, I haven't really
participated in any newsgroups. Can't seem to quite get back into it.
I guess there's just more to do at home, and certainly more to do at
work, and then there were the physical issues.

I checked into the r.f.c. website not long ago and was shocked at the
three most recent dear folks we lost. I read the detail on all but

I think about so many of you very often...

    Warm regards,

So does this mean you're back? Email me you little [censored] and we can whine
about our physical problems and exchange pain medications via fax 😉
Seriously, you and David take care of yourselves. Don't be such a
stranger. I'm really glad to see your post.

Wayne, did it ever occur to you that your neglected friends could worry
about you? Others and I used to ask whether anybody had heard from you,
but nobody owned up to such a connection with you. We even tried to
guess whether you were posting under a new name and which it might be.

While I am glad to hear from you, I am really [censored] at you for not
having stayed in touch, as you had promised.

Well, I am more glad than [censored]. But not much.

Take good care of yourself and of David and feel better soon.

Well now I fell properly admonished and ashamed. I really am sorry,
Margaret, and I really wasn't in touch with anyone from the group.

I hope things are well with you, and I promise to keep in touch if there's

    Edrena

Dear dear Edrena... You're right, it must be lack of pickles! I
definitely need to make some more beet pickles. The last time I made 2
batches, one using my grandmother's recipe and one using yours. I love
    them both.

Now, please tell me what happened in your world? Obviously something

Oh, kili, I'm so very sorry to hear that, but I'm optimistic that you'll
pull through all of it. A very dear friend of ours here in Phoenix has
gone through more than I thought anyone could bear. In the past 3 years he
has had an aortic aneurysm, triple coronary bypass surgery, breast cancer,
esophageal cancer, and lung cancer. He is now cancer free and the other

Hey, how is your new house? The kitchen?? We never heard how it is
    all working out....

    Can you take pictures?

    Christine

We love the new house...moved in just before Christmas. Of course, there's
still lot's to do, both inside and outside. I guess you're never really
finished. <G> I especially love the kitchen, as it has a nice island
wherer the sink and dishwasher are located. The kitchen counter layout is
an "L", with the fridge on one leg and the range on the other. I have
enough counter space for all my portable appliances. The cabinets are
natural maple, with a dark granite-look countertop. There are three long
windows that overlook the back yard. One of these will be replaced by a
door when we add the deck and/or Arizona room.

Pictures? Yes, I will take some when my back is better and I've
straightened up the counters a bit. <G> We haven't taken any pictures yet,
    but I won't forget.

    Thanks for asking.

Have you gotten your new house all sorted out by now? Have you fully
    recovered from your hip surgery?

Sounds like a nice place. I'm considering moving out of RI and further
south because honestly salaries in my field are $20K higher in the south
and housing is less than half the cost of what it is here.l

Had one job offer that would have had me living in the Tampa bay area
for 6 to 12 months then moving back here to the northeast. Nope, nothing
    doing.

we've had a hellish summer here this year. The longest span of days over
    110° in decades.

I love heat. When we hit the 90's here I'm ready to go, other people
just drag ass. I don't understand it.

I've had 42 winters with various blends of cold, snow and ice and I'm
ready for something a whole lot warmer, where it never goes below
freezing or at least not that often.

The SO has only experienced 14 winters here and still loves it.

    Hi folks!

Barbara (sf) wrote and told me that she posted something about me on
r.f.c., but none of the thread has appeared on my newserver.
    Strange...

I'm not sure exactly what she posted, but I'll try to recap...

    .....snip.

Wow, what a time you've had!! I'm glad to hear things are on the mend with a
good prognosis for both of you. Godspeed with the recovery. :-)
