We've officially got an heatwave today in Holland. 5 days more than 25
centigrade, including 3 days 30+. The last time this happened in June was
1976. Can't remember, must be the heat = :-)

I've worn shorts since last Saturday and according to the local weather
station it's been at least 30 celsius every day since then.......

I've been wearing shorts since Saturday, and the daily maxima in my
garden were:
Sat - 29.0
Sun - 31.2
Mon - 25.2
Tue - 22.1
Wed - 28.2
Thur - 29.9
Fri - 23.3
Summer may be over now....

........ was taken on the 20 March on the way up Causey Pike over Rolling
End. And that day, I my neck got sunburnt! Who says it always rains in the

Eh? Don't you remember the Summer of 2003? I do(n't), I was at a
Scouting event near Haarlem, and the weather was so hot I had a trip
by ambulance to hospital :-(

Locally, like fen4b0y says, it has been (longer) warmer but the *official*
heatwave is measured in De Bilt by the KNMI (the Dutch *Metoffice*). The
temperature is measured in a white wooden box, approx 1 meter above the
ground. It might be 30+ centigrade for 30 days in Haarlem but that doesn't
mean it's an*official* heatwave.
Rules, rules, rules. Holland is an overregulated country :-(
