Back home from the last (I hope) hospital incarceration. I hated every second of it and never want to have another surgery but, I'm here and prognosis is 100% recovery. I can't wait. In about 2 weeks I can again eat my fave foods, corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, spicy foods etc. Just in time (a bit late for some things) for some seasonal stuff. I'm thinking about my first big 'normal' meal. I'm thinking hot, spicy and in the wok.
I'm also making a big bowl of marinated cucumber, tomato and red onion salad. I had one bite of it a couple of months ago and thought it was going to kill me.

Michael,
Glad to see you back and thinking about good food. There's only so much of a bland, soft diet any red- blooded foodie can take.

Welcome back. I'm glad it went well. You might want to be a little cautious and ramp up to the hot and spicy stuff so you get your insides prepared for it.

Welcome home, and glad to hear it went well! Just take it easy and don't overdo it at first. You don't want to push too fast! :-) How long will your recovery be?

Michael, it's so good to see you back and know that everything went well! I can just imagine how you're looking forward to all those previously forbidden foods, but you'd probably be wise to start adding them back slowly. An abrupt change might not be good. Do get lots of rest and recover in record time!

Glad to see that you're back. Best wishes to you and that you can get back to the foods you love soon. What sort of hot and spicy dish do you make in your wok?
I make a similar salad. Do you use balsamic vinegar for it? Sometimes I do, but sometimes I just use lemon juice. I hope you can enjoy your salad soon!

Nope. I'm a full fledged member of the normal bowel society. All I have now is CAD which is very treatable.

Yeah, what she said. I do realize hospital food is not much fun but don't kill yourself first time out of the starting gate. I'm sure your SO will reign you in (so to speak).
I used to work with a guy whose parents would actually *go* to the hospital cafeteria for dinner sometimes even though no one they knew was in the hospital! Strange, that.
