I didn't think there was anything special about it. The fight scenes were
pretty lame, and the actress doing the nude scenes was a butterface.

The old "I Claudius" the BBC did thirty years ago was better.

Ditto that. "I Claudius" is on the short list for best mini-series ever.
Crummy sets, no special effects, just great actors and compelling
characters. The opposite of Rome, with its expensive dazzle and its ho-hum
characters. Even gratuitous nudity can't fill the vacuum. Unless things
change drastically (and I wouldn't rule out the possibility), HBO has cooked
up a turkey this time.

The daughter was. The mother riding the "little goat man" was pretty hot.
Although I didn't realize the Romans had access to breast enhancement
technology.

I didn't watch because it looks like subject matter I'm entirely not
into. More importantly, I just figured it was some crappy Sunday night
replacement for Six Feet Under or Sex in the City...or a time waster
until The Sopranos or Curb Your Enthusiam returns. Based on the reviews
here, it sounds like I might have been right.
