Blog-inspired 'googlebombing'. Because Google indexes stuff on the text
of the link *to* a page, as well as the text of a page, if you can get
enough people to link to a certain page with a certain word, you can get
it to the top of Google's results.

Doesn't work any more but this tells you a little about how they do it (and
what the search used to direct you to).
there was a simlar one with weapons of mass destruction 2 years ago.
You got a "this page cannot be found" screen but it was all about WAMD
or lack thereof.

Only mildly amusing, 'cos it's not so obviously appropriate.
I wonder if we could/should googlebomb "terrorist" to go there -
that would be an altogether better fit?

Since you mention it, I've decided to make my little
contribution. The technique should be obvious from
http://www.webthing.com/~nick/ (bottom of page)
and from
http://people.apache.org/~niq/ (below the serious links).
It takes a lot of those to work the magic. Everyone needs to
do their bit. This is the voice of the people - when it works.

This time I got <url:http://www.failuremag.com/>, but earlier today got
<url:http://www.failurecomics.com/> . Re-reading the bbc article it says I
should have been typing 'Miserable failure', which does indeedy take me to
<url:http://www.whitehouse.gov/president/gwbbio.html>.

Pardon me if I seem a bit slow on this.... does that mean that, with all of
urc trying these out, we are perpetuating them?
