  1. It has nothing to do with bikes, but I just finally, after months of job hunting, landed myself a
great job that starts this coming week.

WOrking for a website (as a journalist) that deals with medical issues. The job has great pay, the
people who work there are mostly young (multimedia types and journalists), flexible hours. DId I
mention great pay? WHich goes up after 3 months probation, should I get past that. And gee, doing
something I actually like and was trained for?

One thing that does relate to bikes: They encourage workers to bike to work. They have a plaque
commemorating them for being 'bike friendly' which sounds great to me. Once I scout out the route,
it'll be great, I think it's right off thet bike path. HOwever, I doubt I'll start commuting by bike
just yet, since it starts getting dark early pretty soon and it may be dangerous commuting from that
area. ANd biking will be a better alternative than public transport, whch is a real shlep from where
I live. It's not that far, it's just how the buses and metros connect between here and there. The
bus service in my neighborhood sucks, so riding the Kona will be great compared to that. But will be
    here soon anyways.

I was really nervous for a few days becuase I was also stressed and busy from some work I was doing,
but now I just want to celebrate!

And, of course, if all works out, I plan to get some nice new bike stuff. Okay, so some of it
    relates to bikes.

I just had to spill it all out- even if no one here knows me, what the hell!

Congratulations! As a self-(under)employed writer/producer, I know that those opportunities are
awfully rare nowadays. (Or heck, ANY time!)

    Go get 'em 🙂

That's great to be happy about your new job.

But, if you don't start riding soon, the bike path part of your route might not be regularly plowed
    and salted when you start.

Would a folder work with transit?

    Congratulations and best wishes.

BTW, even though most of RBM regular contributors never meet face to face I don't consider the other
regulars to be total strangers. It's a shame that an RBM group ride isn't possible. It would be an
interesting experience to say the least. I wonder who'd win the grupetto's finishing sprint- Chalo,
    Fabrizio, or Zoot? ;-)

    I don't know, but it wouldn't be me. I don't even know what a "grupetto" is. 😉

And of course, you will use your skill and influence to work some bicycle-related medical
issues onto this website. When you get a byline, you'll post the URL, so we can critique it.

No, I get to stay here- commuting by bike to another city might be a bit much.

THanks. A celebratory ride would have been great today, but the weather just hasn't been cooperating.
It may not be for few more days. I wish it was July!

hahah....listen, I didn't get the job by luck or have it handed to me, or through rich parents. I
split a gut for months! So it's not like there's anything to be really jealous of, except that it's
    a good job I guess.

Thanks to all for your good wishes. I'll let you know in three months if I pass the
    probation period!

A friend of mine who lived in Mtl for a few years is always bugging me about how great public
