That was pretty cool. The photo of my little burg is slightly
long-in-the-tooth since many of the homes have seen complete
make-overs... It's nice to go back in time, though, and see the area
around the time we first moved into the neighborhood.

The point is that you found your house. If you want an up to the
minute photo, I'm sure you can find it a little more digging.

The good news for me is that our address is arbitrarily assigned, and
if you plug it in, you don't get our house. 🙂 And even though our
home has been here since around 1951, the older photos have it so
obscured by trees, you can't see it even if you know where to look. 🙂

And it's only going to get more interesting. Google is about to start
mapping major cities using lasers in order to get 3D maps. That should
be fun.

And as it is now, most municipalities now take pictures of houses and
put them on the assessors web sites.

Mine too.
The neighborhood actually looks different than it does now. For one thing,
the hospital down the street hadn't been expanded yet.

I used the address finder, because people seem to be so concerned
about the date... Mine is Feb. 2004. Not much has changed outside
since then. No trees have been cut, no houses have additions. Heck,
we even have the same cars.

I found the house in Colorado and could see the table on thee back
deck, the dog run and the storage shed quite clearly. Even the row of 3
foot tall trees dividing our yard from the neighbors.
The photo I saw was from April 2002 a few months before I moved in.

My entire neighborhood came up, but it couldn't zoom in very far. I
could tell which one was my house, though I couldn't see my car. Maybe
it being in the garage had something to do with it?

I can't find mine at all, the resolution is not very good. I see
where it should be but with the angle the photo was taken, the street
I'm on isn't visible either.

I may not know much but I think I know where I live! LOL

How about "find what's for dinner tomorrow" in my fridge? I have some
thawed bay scallops I absolutely have to use or lose. At this point I'm
thinking lose... don't want to take a chance on bad seafood. A shame to
waste food but getting ill really isn't an option.

So, I was thinking of doing a veggie stir fry. I have zucchini/courgettes,
I have bean sprouts. I have broccoli. I have garlic and onion. I have a
jalapeno. I could probably find something else... hmm, I think I have corn
in the freezer! Ginger (ground - no fresh root on hand). Teriyaki. But
I'm out of cornstarch, darnit. Oh well.
