I bought a Symantic product once and it screwed up my computer so much I uninstalled it and returned it immediately. Luckily, the manager of the large chain store I bought it from was a woman who understood I wasn't trying to rip off the company (by installing the software and returning the CD). As a result, Symantic has a black eye IMO... but at least CompUSA came up smelling like a rose and I still do business with them.
I desperately need to defrag my mac, but Norton SUCKS for OS-X! It's not wanting to work. Keeps running into "unknown errors" and quitting. I'm getting quite a bit of fragmentation and it's slowing the computer down.
I need to fix it. Now.
What is the best defragging software for Mac Os-X???

http://www.jamlady.eboard.com looks professional, but I thought you did it yourself up to this point. Someone who can put up a snazzy site like that knows a thing or two about computer software.... and my money says a it was designed by a Mac user. I thought it was you, but you've proven me wrong.

First off, Any's suggestion that you back up your hard drive should be taken seriously, and that goes for Windows and other OS users too.

I always go in groveling and asking for patience towards an old woman. I've only ever received cordial responses. And Disk Warrior was my friend for OS 9.1. Their tech support guy is a sweetheart if you talk nice to him. I expect to acquire DW for OSX when I get a few bucks ahead. It's $80. (I just acquired an iBook.) LOL! Thank you for the compliment. Go to eBoard's home page and read what they're about. I don't remember how I stumbled on them. I was attracted to it by its ease of use - no need to learn anything new - and its reasonable cost. I don't mind paying for the service. I've been a satisfied customer for nearly four years.
