OT: Dangerous Driver ?

manner of foolishness, even been run over once, I have never seen
quite this level of abandon and profound disregard for life and limb.
I am convinced this fool will hurt someone, if he has not done so
already.

Please excuse the OT posting, but I lurk on this group from time to
time and I know there are quite a few local riders that contribute
here.

Call the local police and alert them. Call them every time you see this
knucklehead. Take a camera along, listen for his engine, and take a
photo when he goes by.

Call 911. I've talked to the police about who to call to report
situations like this, they said call 911. An officer will be dispatched
ASAP to find him (at least that's what I was told here in ohio).

Most digital cameras will take video with audio, can you arrange for a
friend to take the video from the side of the road? If not, just stop
a few minutes before you expect him, kneel down like you are checking
the air pressure in your tire (thumb on tire) and video tape with the
other hand. 22 minutes / 1GB card is what mine records at. If you
can call the police about 1 hour before time and have an unmarked sit
near the start and follow, or have a marked sitting just past these
bad spots to catch him afterward.

Hard to believe this guy's been driving that way every day for very long and
hasn't already hit someone. Not a cyclist, but a car. A recklessly-driven
car is every bit as dangerous, perhaps even more so, to other cars than to
bikes. We have the advantage of our ears... we can generally hear car a
corner or two away, and from the sound of the engine etc., have an idea of
the potential danger. At least until high-performance electric cars are the
norm!

As someone else mentioned, best place to post would be ba.bicycles, where a
lot of Old LaHonda regulars monitor the threads.

Watch out for gravel on the west side of Old LaHonda, by the way. Several
places where it showed up on Thursday's ride.
