I just got done sending you an e-mail at three different addresses, and they all bounced. So here it is:
Finally got my hands on a New Belgium Trippel. New Belgium has earned their name afer all! This is one of the better US-made Belgian styles that I've tried so far, and I've tried a bunch. I found a place nearby that will order them (by the case), too.
And just in the nick of time; my knee's a mess and I can't ride today. :-(

He turned me on to these, too. I recently found them on tap, but you can't get more than 2 per hour served to you. They're that strong.

A current favorite beer of mine is a Belgian-style trippel called Final Absolution from the Dragonmead micro-brewery here in the metro Detroit area. They also offer a decent dubbel and to celebrate their anniversary every year they brew their Armageddon Grand Cru - a quad that is tasty and at 11.6% ABV can easily knock this Clydesdale on his ass if he's not too careful.
The Dragonmead brew-pub is close to work and to my mother-in-law's house. But the really cool part is that the local bar and grill with the best beer selection has been regularly carrying a Dragonmead Belgian and this place it not only located right next to my favorite LBS but is also right on the way home from my favorite local trail.

Boy, I love living in Fort Collins. Sure makes it easy to get anything from New Belgium.

I thought you might trust my beer judgement. I've been a beer snob ever since I first tasted Samuel Smith's Old Brewery Pale Ale in 1978.

Hehe. 8.7% ABV isn't outrageously high for a trippel. I can just imagine how good this stuff must be on tap.
It's over 9% by the time it hits the consumer because of secondary fermentation in the bottle. I have yet to have it on tap, but imagine that it must be outstanding.
