It's surprising that the guy he allegedly works for hasn't said anything about
this. Two things: the vice prez is is the so-called "President of the Senate" so that
would mean he falls under the rules of the Senate; alternately, if the OVP is, as
they assert, a separate branch then the Congress could simply refuse to fund them (as
Rahm Emanuel has suggested).
What's funniest about this is that, after spending the entire Clinton era
screaming about an administration that scorned the rule of law, we get an
administration that wipes its ass on the rule of law and the Constitution and the
people who were complaining about Clinton's "abuses" have nothing but excuses and
rationalizations.

But it's also reasonable, since the stuff Clinton did was either good
for the country, or very minor things that he did wrong. To even make
comparisons between, say, the Monica Lewinsky Scandal and the levels
of deceit currently happening in the White House and US Justice
Department is ludicris.

A voice of reason?! You sure you've got the right newsgroup,
buddy? 😉
I have enough righteous indignation to go around and see no reason to
limit it based or race, creed, political affiliation or for starting a
war under false pretenses that sucks down our money like it's going
out of style and makes us look like [censored] that didn't learn a
lesson from Vietnam.

Don't worry, its just greg's tax money and he generous enough to divide it
up between supporting chung, ben and the iraqi government.

The right wingers don't care about the Constitution. It was written by
a bunch of godless Humanists; they want to replace it with a new one
that establishes the US as a Dominionist theocracy with enough
consideration for the interests of corporations and the ultrawealthy
that they won't interfere with the religious police that will
terrorize the other 99.9% of Americans.

It all depends on what crimes offend one's sensibilities. Some
people get more upset with adultery, others by ignoring Constitutional
rights.

Yup. When Bush's high crimes and misdemeaners rise to that of
Clinton..the Right will be [censored]. In fact..the Right is already
[censored] about Bush. Has been since we elected that moderate SOB. A
whole bunch of conservatives have been complaining about Bush since he
accomplished exactly what he promised when he ran for office. But
considering there were no other viable choices....we got what we voted
for. Least its not still called the Whitehouse, rather than Kremlin West
as it would be if any of the Dems had won.

Won in Vietnam? Oh, right. I'd forgotten that the objective was to
have North Vietnam take over the south, and have the Communist party
make Socialist reforms. Not sure how I could have missed that.
I guess in your mind Vietnam is a more successful version of how the
Korean war was won.
Wot a maroon.

Right. We still have stupid people getting us into stupid wars,
spending hundreds of billions on something we can't "win" without
nuking an entire region, and the same stupid people wishing for the
good old days.
It's not about Democrat vs. Republican, nor liberal vs. conservative.
It's about stupid vs. pragmatic. You've made it quite clear which
camp you're in.
I'd thought that your handle "gunner" was some reference to military

Poor persuasive technique. Too grandiose, no attempt to support or
justify. Comes off as simple name calling.
Realize, I'm not asking you to support the claim, just pointing that it
looks more like name calling than anything else. You might avoid doing
this in the future, unless you just enjoy doing it.
Quoted message said:And both tried to circumvent

Actually Bush has. He'll never get in trouble for it and the reasons are
interesting.
Where Bush has broken the law and undermined the Constitution, he has
generally had the support of the Senate and the House and the majority
of the American people. A couple years later, when they've calmed down,
they all point the finger at Bush. He's President and he did what he
did, so it's fair I guess. But it's a bit problematic in that most of
the people pointing their fingers NOW supported everything a few years
ago. They can't take any action that involves assigning responsibility
in a reasonable way without implicating themselves. So all they can do
is whine and [censored] and hope that no one asks any difficult questions.
Clinton, on the other hand, did what he did in a back room with only one
other person involved. So he was fair game to receive the full load of
whatever righteous indignation we felt like dumping on him. Far more
satisfying, really.

Where'd ya get your name, and what are you trying to tell us with it?
The concept of Christian Commandos hadn't occured to me but it seemed
to pop into your head pretty easily.
Now that your bring it up, though, there's no question that the right
wing fundies want to be in your bedroom. They spend an odd amount of
time and effort worrying about what goes on in other people's. It's
really weird.

Tovarisch,
I thought the Democrats were for signing away the
national security to Al Qaeda and putting the nation
under Sharia law. Now you tell me that we're
planning to give the country to Putin and the Kremlin
and institute KGB surveillance of all right-thinking
Americans? That's very secularist, it's a complete
reversion to our Democratic platform during the
Cold War.
I mean, I'm still 100% behind giving the country away
to our enemies, but which enemies? I have to make
plans, you know. Jeez, I wish Pelosi and Rahm Emanuel
would keep the >50% of Americans who support treason
at the highest levels of government better informed.
