  1. Can anyone recommend a campsite in the Mouldsworth area of Cheshire?
I've had a look on Google and on ukcampsite (both of them) and can't
find anything in the immediate area. I want to be as near as possible
to Mouldsworth, i.e. no more than half an hour's drive away.

    Thanks.

According to Anquet there's a caravansite near Kesall (4km), one near
Hatchmere (8km) and a caravan/campingsite near Foxwist Green (14km). No
names, just symbols on a 1:250.000 map.

Did you find this? Nothing listed for Mouldsworth, but some sites not
    that far away...

Thanks, I'll have a look. I'll have to get hold of a map so I can see
    which towns/villages are where.

There are couple of Caravan Club 'Cerified Locations' (small, basic
ones with a maximum of 5 caravans, I think) but I'm not certain
whether they take tents.a few minutes away. One's at SJ 516740 and the
    other at 510733.
There's a Caravan & Camping Club site - similar, small affair - at
Castle Hill Farm, Newton by Frodsham, Kingsley (01928 788218).
Also Woodhouses Park, Chester Road, Frodsham (01928 735031).

I can't recommend any of them as I've never used them, but I reckon
    they'd be OK.

Thanks Paul. I have to confess that I'm slightly wary of camping in
October (storms, anyone?) but the alternatives are just too expensive at
the moment. I considered - briefly - the YHA hostel in Chester, but
their price includes breakfast and I can't see that being compatible
with being in Mouldsworth by about 08:30. I'm only going to be with my
oldest son, so we'll take one of my bombproof tents and our chances. I
really need to get a map of the area - multimap and streetmap are all
very well, but they don't show enough of the area for me to get a really
good impression of where everywhere is in relation to everywhere else.

www.stilwell.co.uk gives you a clickable map with red dots. Found it on
    uk.rec.camping. There's also a backpackers/family campsite in Kelsall.(4km
south of Mouldsworth) tel: 01829 752569 (open all year).
