Way off topic. I quit smoking about 2.5 weeks ago, and actually it's easier
for me to drink. At first I thought that alcohol would increase my tobacco
cravings, but actually it made me forget about the nicotine and stuff.
And tonight I had a date. This doesn't happen real often, but it did
tonight. I cooked for us, and took her to a bar that I have been
patronizing for years, since my divorce, and was featuring karaoke tonight.
At one point I went up to the bar to refresh our drinks, and a young
attractive lady sitting at the bar asked me if I was going to drive home. I
was puzzled and told her that yes, I was. She talked with me more, and I
got the distinct impression that she was trying to pick me up.
Now, all these years I've been going to that bar, nobody ever did that. I
take one date one night, and suddenly someone is hitting on me. I even
mentioned it to my date, and she just told me how attractive I was, and all,
and I was wondering why I wasn't attractive for the past ten years when I
went in there on my own.
I won't start smoking again because of this. I will, however, wonder about
women.
I think that's what got me smoking in the first place.
