  1. Hi all,

I have a Mac as well as a PC and I was wondering how to get this newsgroup
up on the mail server on the Mac? Is that possible? If not, is there a
free way of getting on here via the web?

    Thanks,
    Curt

  2. You need a newsreader for the Mac, I'm sure there are some, just Google for
    Mac newsreader.

  3. You can get a number of newsreaders for Mac, like Newswatcher... just do
    a Google search.

    OR

You can read the groups ON Google, just click "Groups" at the top of the
    Google screen.

    OR

You can keep a copy of Netscape just for reading groups... that's what I
do. I grew accustomed to their interface years ago. So I just stayed.

    Go here: http://www.mozilla.org/

and download Thunderbird. It is a very good and very configurable, free
mail/news client with lots of add-ons and extensions.

    and there's always groups.google.com or news2web.com.

I use MT-Newswatcher 3.2, since I'm using OSX. I like it fine. You could
try looking on www.tucows.com for newsreaders.

I have only 3 flaws. My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws.

That's what I used when I worked on a Mac. When they replaced our Macs
with PCs, I found Gravity and liked it because it was similar to MT-
Newswatcher (aka YANR (yet another news reader) in a previous
    incarnation).

I use a mac - and I use NewsWatcher, which I assume must be share or
free-ware (unless my husband purchased the license for me without
telling me he did that). I'm not sure where to get it (if you haven't
guessed from the previous comment, my husband sets up the computers
    around here).

I like it as a newsreader - it does threaded subjects, and has a great
    killfile capability.

Do you use Newswatcher, or MT-Newswatcher? MT-Newswatcher is free, written
by Simon Fraser, based on the original NewsWatcher by John Norstad.
MT-Newswatcher is available for download at

    http://www.smfr.org/mtnw/

I got the above info from the About box.

I believe thunderbird/firefox are out there for Mac too. Free and
    highly functional!
