  1. I'm going to be riding from southern WI to Seymour, WI in September.
I can handle the route work from the south up to the south side of
Oshkosh, then again from Appleton to Seymour.
However, I don't really know the area from Oshkosh to Appleton, other
    than the freeway.
Can someone help me with a route from the southwest side of Oshkosh,
going north thru all the Fox Cities, to the north side of Appleton, in
    the AmericInn area?

Cut across Lake Winnebago: <http://www.shuttlebike.com/>. 😉

Why go that way? Why not along the eastern side of Lake Winnebago? It's
pretty rural over there. I can give you a route from Green Bay to Fond du
Lac along that side of the lake.

In Puritan New England, Christmas wasn't even a legal holiday until 1856

I've biked through there twice, once on old 45, which is now highway
76, the other time on a County trunk, I believe it was A, near Lake
Winnebago (it doesn't show on my state maps). The latter had some
stretches that had too much traffic and too little width to suit me.
76 is flat farm country, and was pretty good biking, but it goes a
    little west of Appleton,

    It is A.

Catch it from Main St. to Harrison St. in Oshkosh; it terminates in rt.
    114 in Neenah. (114=>47=>Appleton)

Pretty scenic. Have never ridden it (only in a car) so have no idea
    whether it's cyclable.

My ride will be around 125 miles already. Going on the east side will
add a bunch of miles that I probably can't handle.

This may help in finding bicycle accessible bridges:

  8. MTR is in Appleton this year. I bet someone in the host club can help
you. Just look for "midwest tandem rally."
