Ortlieb

I've had the classic roller front & rear panniers for about 2 years
now. Used 6 days a week, rain or shine & no probs at all yet. I'd
wait to see what ortlieb say, their after sales service is supposed to
be pretty good. good luck..

I got them because they are meant to be the best, and I use them a
lot.In fact I have never had such short lived panniers. I have contacted
Ortlieb.

Yes, I think you are.

Mine have taken daily commuting year-round for about nine years.
There are two small (about 2mm x 20mm) patches on the top of
each at the end of a crease which has lost the coating, but the
location is such that a water leak here is shed out of the pannier
by an overlap inner bit, so nothing gets wet. There's a
moderate amount of cosmetic scuffing, and quite a bit of dirt.

The Karrimor ones I had before expired in only about four years of
daily use (despite having a lifetime gaurantee). They wore out enough
that small items (like pens, keys) started falling out the bottom.

If I ever need to buy another pair of panniers, I'll buy Ortlieb.

I've used Bikepacker Ortliebs fairly heavily for four years now and no
problems.
Let us know what Ortlieb say.

Totally the opposite to my experience. Bought a pair of roll top rear
panniers in late 1994 for six month's touring in 1995. The one I still have
is used daily for commuting. After 12 years the colour is very faded, but
it is still totally waterproof, resisting today's downpours completely.

My Rear Roller Plus pair are about 5 years old. I've used them for
touring and general shopping, Roos uses them for commute panniers.
Aside from some oil stains they're pretty much good as new.

I have a dry-bag made from the same stuff my sleeping bag has
travellled in for a few years now. Again, good as new.

I have several dry bags in the heavier "classic" weight material
and no trouble from any of them. And my Ortlieb map case is
excellent too, and this weekend we've been testing their coffee
filter cone for the first time and that cuts the mustard too.

Seems like they owe you a new pair, but as long as they acknowledge
that and get on with it then that's okay, if a bit of a pain. But
/everyone/ drops a ball from time to time.
