FWIW. Because OPUS is a Canadian frame maker, I'm not sure how many people are familiar with their line of bikes ...

I think that someone mentioned OPUS bikes in another thread in the past 12 months ... regardless, my recollection is that they (or, whichever bike brand I am recollecting as having been OPUS) were fairly well regarded ... at least, by the OP.

How is the 2008 Opus Allegro different from a 2010 Opus Allegro OR is their most recent CF called something else?

Some CF frames are stiffer than others ... how-and-where were you planning on riding the bike?

What components does the particular bike have?

If the shifters are Shimano, then 'I' would sell the shifters and then replace them with a pair of 10-speed non-QS, Campagnolo shifters ... either, 2010 Athena or Veloce shifters if you want the latest and greatest OR an older pair of 10-speed, non-QS Campagnolo shifters AND THEN either hubbub.com the rear derailleur cable anchoring to achieve 10-speed Shimano indexing OR sell the 10-speed cassette/chain & front derailleur (keep the rear derailleur) and replace them with a 9-speed Shimano cassette/chain & front derailleur.

What is the frame's geometry? Is the particular frame the right size for YOU?

How much is the shop asking for the bike? What did it originally retail for?

What makes the bike so exceptional to you?

Last Friday I took the 2008 Opus Allegro for a spin. 105 front, Ultegra rear, 105 chain, Mavic Aksium wheels. It was great, the only thing was the bars were a little narrow. Immediately after,:p I went for a ride on a Devinci CX2 and it was
also a great ride ,especially that the bars were wide enough. It felt like the fork was flexing when braking. The Allegro was really stiff. Both bikes road really well, but the CX2 had 105 rear and FSA front derailleur, both had 105 brake levers and shifters. List price was $2500 for Allegro and $2800 for Cx1, with 20% off either bike(cdn funds).I search the web sites to try and find msrp but couldn't find either.There are about 5-6 more bikes I want to try before buying.
