This evening I picked up my road bike from the local bike shop.
I now have a nice Lemond Etape with carbon fibre forks.
Got home from the bike shop at around 8pm, spent an hour or so admiring the
bike / transferring speedo + lights + spare bottle cage from the mtb.
Then at 9:30pm I decided I'd take the new bike out for a quick spin.
What can I say?
It's certainly a different kettle of fish riding a road bike compared to my
mountain bike. The roadbike is very lively and responsive - I think it's
going to take a while to get used to how the bike handles! I did get some
pain in the base of my thumb as I don't think I'm used to riding on the
hoods.
It should be an interesting cycle to work tomorrow morning! And then a
club ride on Saturday - it should be a lot easier keeping up now that I
have a sleek road bike!
cheers
