Yeah but when a road bridge flushes away it makes the news and generally
someone fixes it. FBs vanish and nobody even notices many times (if the
locals happen to be the farmers owning the land, they just cheer).
Typically you get 'ROW closed' notice nailed to a few posts, until they
blow away, and that's your lot. Would be really neat if the Council(s)
would keep status of closed ROWs on the WWW somewhere.

Or a map (on the www) with symbols showing the current situation of roads,
bridges, treefelling, shooting, closed (or open) pubs-hotels-campsites,
landslides affecting walking, etc.,etc.. Something for a company like
MultiMap ?

Isn't this where I came in?

I have found the footbridge you mean, at NN23798 69107, and there is a
path marked going *to* from the East, but not continuing westwards...
I wondered if it was simply built to facilitate access to the dam. I
think have some photos of that area from Binnein Beag, but I have no
idea where exactly they are - I know where all the slides & negatives
are but there are nearly 60 sets of negatives and about 45 boxes of
slides... (counted them the other day to justify getting a film
scanner!)

Gotta say though - it's a *very* impressive site! I knew about the old
maps there which are fascinating as a record how things used to be, but
not these relatively new ones.
