Had to provide some information (in an official capacity) for the local paper today which is preparing a story regarding cyclist's complaints about driver behaviour at a particular roundabout (and I agree that it's an issue).
The paper is actually taking the cyclists side (at least so far).
Of course what can you actually do other than suggest driver education programs/enforcement or signage?
(There isn't enough room to provide alternative facilties and that would defeat the purpose anyway)

If you're in Melbourne, ride up to the roundabout on Pigdon & Canning Street in North Carlton for an good outcome for cyclists. This roundabout has previously been notorious for car/bicycle altercations. Yarra Council took this into consideration when implementing a LATM (Local Area Traffic Management) plan. Last year I attended two 'tours' of the treatment used to make the area safer for cyclists. (Feb '04 Yarra Bicycle Advisory Committee bike tour + with BV, as part of the LATM Seminar with Road Engineers) I'd also like to hear what other cyclists think about the roundabout, ie: good, bad or indifferent.
