My ex is a speech-language pathologist in an elementary school. That
profession now considers part of its job to be working on "externally
foisted" language issues, if a kid's already seeing the clinician for a
speech problem. Numerous times, parents have called her and asked "Who you
think you be, trahn to fix stuff what ain't broke?" Remember, this is
Western NY. :-)
