Ugh. The Zabriskie morale bit annoyed me to no end. As if the
always-perfect Discovery team would have done otherwise. Roll looks
like even more of an ass than usual with today's comments.

But I'm just cranky because I'm a CSC fan ;-)

I guess that the brilliant BR knows who CSC's GC men are this year and
Julich wasn't paying attention in team meetings.

Bjarne Riis has stated that he thinks bike racing is too "old fashioned" and
I believe one of the things he was thinking about was the tradition of
respecting the yellow jersey even if it's on the shoulders of someone other
than your designated GC leader.

Under Riis's model of pro cycling ethics:
Having the MJ fetch water bottles is OK.
Not waiting for the MJ when he crashes is OK.
Not riding for the MJ if he bonks on the first mountain stage is OK.
Expecting the "real" race leader to ride like he's in yellow even if he's
not is OK.
Attacking on crashes is probably OK - but probably not OK on natural breaks.

Why maintain old tradtions at the cost of winning races?
Seems like Bobke is stuck somewhere between the old and new paradigms.
