that "...Ile de France five time winner Lance Armstrong said the world
championship wouldn't be decided in northern France, but in the Pyrenees."

But OLN did have Al Trouthead mangling Chartres into something that was
akin to "Chatter" or "Shatter". Couldn't we at least have a nobody who
might know something about architecture in Amiens or Chartres to replace
him? Phil And Paul can handle the bike stuff.

I have noticed a lot of these gaffes, and get a little annoyed. Then I
have to think atleast they are bothering to notice. Maybe it is that
it is an olympic year, or maybe because it is historic if armstrong
wins, or maybe it is just a slow news week. but the TDf has been on
the front page of both the Washington post and the New Yok Times the
whole week!

What is up with that? Not that I am complaing. I would have to say I
hope it doesn't go away....And in a few years ESPN etc. will actually
learn what the race is all about....until then I am happy to field
question why all isn't lost because lance is 9:30 down. I have been
using the fact that Voeckler lost 3h28m to Lance last year to put
things into perspective.

I also have never really understood how complex cycling is until
trying to explain all the in and outs to someone. but I am enjoying
trying elucidate the complexities.
