  1. Just saw one of the first TDF commercials featuring Bob Roll.

Bob Roll sitting across a desk from a TV executive:

"Bob ... Just wanted to let you know we sending you to the Tour again this year."

    "Thank you."

"Just one thing, some viewers don't like the way you say Tour duh FrAHnce"

"Don't you mean Tour DAY Frantz?"

    "No ... Tour duh FrAHnce."

Cut to Bob in the bathroom, in front of the mirror:

"Tour duh ... Uh ... Tour duh FrAH ... Uh ... Tour DAY Frantz, Tour DAY Frantz ... Tour DAY
    FRANTZ!!! Yeah!"

  2. Bob Roll ROCKS!!! I didn't get a chance to see him at Sea Otter this year or else I'd have rocked
him back a bit with a river stone bounced off of his noggin. Since it's Bob they would have shown it
on the air. I coulda been a contender!

  4. As always, he is very entertaining. I like his 'hassan chop' hand gestures. They should drop the
chickie - she can go do nekid news or something.

    I like Frankie's interviews too.

I'm getting very tired of the CharBroil "It's a grill!" commercials.

They're worse than the damned Michelin baby commercials during the ESPN days.

  6. Yeah, they are bad. "Man's new best friend" hardy har.

All in all not a bad crop (of commercials) when taken as a whole.

  8. I assure you that beats this stupid grill commercial. There are 2 or 3 versions in which an idiot
treats the grill as if it is a dog by taking it hunting and playing with it.

  11. I think he is good now. I am sure he will only get better but he is still the best they have had in
a long while. Considering how Phinney, Heiden and a few other racers did when commentating shortly
after ending their road careers, I think he is doing an excellent job.

They actually show her laughing in one segment. fake blonde? I don't think she's a fit for this show
either. It's obvious she could care less about the race. How about in stage 2 when she asks that
posed question to Bobke about Finot's breakaway staying under 10 minutes?

  13. I finally got it:

They show the girl who looks a little Asian (half-Asian?), then in one of the versions the guy says
    it's "half gas, half charcoal."

The one with the man with the frisbee has GOT TO GO.

Bobke's humor grows on me. At first I didn't get it, but like it. That man with the frisbee at the
    grill has got to go.

  15. You can now go get yourself a Johnsonville brat turned over with greasy channellocks.

I'm just tickled to death that they think enough of the bike riding market to spend the money
on sponsoring the program. I'll go out of my way to look for a Char-Broil grill the next time
    I need one.

Yes, compared to the others, he is the best yet.
