Yes but I'll be doing the laid back thing, this time without cleat
problems. Two laps and unless there is 120 riders like when the 80km
Champs was run recently then very cosy, traffic-wise.

course, it is Mothers Day... decisions, decisions... cook breakfast

On the thread of "cheap campy", if none of the others, I got some email back from www.11speed.com this morning. They have substantially reduced their shipping costs, one cassette went from 30e to 10e, making them pretty competitive against probikekit.com. I just need to make sure they didnt put their parts price up to compensate =)

The new cassette is for the *old* bike - it has 9sp veloce on it.

As part of the order, I got a Park chain wear tool (tests 0.75%
and 1% stretch). I was surprised to find that after over 5000km,
the stretch on the old chain was less than 0.75%. the 19 and 17
tooth cogs on the rear, however, where quite worn. A new chain
was jumping on them. The old chain was a Sachs 9sp.

I still ride the old bike a lot - I ride the new one when I want
something "special". I want that "what a fantastic bike to ride"
feeling to last as long as possible!

old bike feeling...

(and was pouring sauce on his second helping when my wife found him!)
because I'd finished the milk before I went to work...and my four y.o.
who has yet to master the art of pouring milk slowly... but is getting
the hang of cleaning it up off the table, chair, floor, etc...
riiiiight..... ;-)

Who knows, it could make for an exciting day when I get home...

Yes, I have an even older bike that I leave with my sister in Adelaide
to ride when I visit. It doesn't even have index gears. Not bad for
a toodle around the hills though. The ride from Aldgate to Port Elliott
is one of my favorite rides of them all. It would even be good
on a Raleigh Scorpion (my first "real" road bike - I thought at the
time it was good enough to be my last!). 80km, mostly down hill,
through the Adelaide hills taking in Mylor, Echunga, Meadows, Ashton,
Middleton and Port Elliott for the bakery!

The six yo is a boy? My 5 yo daughter has yet to come up with
novel combinations like that. My not-quite 2 yo will eat anything.
