Oldest trials/street riders?

crazy!🙄 I just wonder if Heaton, Collos, Johannessen [sic] and
all the other top riders, will still be doing the same intensity
trials/street riding at 50, that they're doing now.

I think definately not. But if they keep riding I bet they could still
fairly do 360 uni spins and double kick flips w/o much difficulty.

I got and watched 'Dogtown and Z-Boys'
(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0275309/) a little while ago, and some of
those guys can do a lot of the same stuff they were doing when the
action footage was shot, over 20 years ago, now they are in their late
40's. What's more some of the stuff they did has gone out of style,
now the best young pros can't do some of the manuvers, so they had to
act as their own stunt doubles in 'Lords of Dogtown'

Ride everywhere and never just ride anywhere. If you can ride where you
are going within a hour, do it, and if you can do a trick 50-75% of the
time do it along the way.
Parafrasing a pro skater when asked for advise to kids who wanted to
get much better and maybee turn pro one day.

smack dab in that era.

Hmmm, I may be dating myself but I remember when Schwinn first
introduced the U-seat. My first unicycle in 1961 came with a leather
derailleur seat on it from a custom builder.

I've never been a "tricks" guy though, more of an XC rider.

It's really doubtful I'll get adept at anything more than just riding.
I observed a trials competition in VT a few weeks back and' videoed'
(

) it. I was astonished to see
what could be done on a uni. One of the competitors loaned me his 20"
trials uni and I got to the point where I could hop in place 20 times
but I think my bones are too brittle to consider pursuing that aspect
of the sport. Perhaps my grandson, but not me.....
