Yep, they're still made. There were two of them at the last CM ride.

that reminds me of the ones I saw in Vancouver last time I went.
Looked like a whole bunch of modified 10 speeds with V handle bars.
They stopped next to stop signs to rest, get on and off for balance.
Seat may have been 7-8 feet up in the air though. Steep learning curve

Tall-bikes were featured in the last Momentum Magazine (a local rag).
I know about 10 people in town with tall bikes.
They're very easy to ride and the view from up there is great.
Getting on and off is the tricky part.

Riding an ordinary is more challenging. . . especially downhill.

That's still too pricey. I was thinking if they could be had for a couple
