  1. Yes, I think about trivial things sometimes.

These days, I primarily use black XT Skewers, but I do still have two pairs of Ringle Cam Twist Ti
    skewers (the original "Boutique" skewer)

Unless your bike came with some generic non-shimano skewer, is anyone using anything special?

On various bikes I have the older Ti spindled Specialized ones, a recent pair of Rtichey WCS, the
cool-looking American Classic ones, recent Shimano of various levels, and old steel Campy.

Nothing works better than the Shimanos. I wouldn't spend a nickel extra for any of the others.

of late, that's my feeling exactly. I can get black XT relatively cheaply and they both work and
    look good.

Nashbar bolt-on skewers. QR? Who needs 'em?

Ti skewers, eh? If you haven't broken them yet, you don't ride enough. Disco [censored] for poseurs.

Plain old Shimano XTs - the silver ones. Why risk using something else? They work, period.

While packing up the garage/tools last night I found a set of Middleburn skewers a friend gave me when I left CO over 5 years ago. I never used them (have always just used some old XT skewers). I may put the back one on now for whatever reason. Can't use the front one due to the Z1 QR 20 set-up's longer QR skewer requirement. I never really cared about having all that chi-chi [censored] anyways (couldn't afford it for a long while anyway!).

    - 1 pair kore titanium
    - 1 pair salsa titanium
    - 5 pair tranz-x titanium
    - 1 pair controltech titanium
