  1. So you've worn holes in your knicks or they are so see-through
that you are not sure if you've got them on or not?

What do you do now other than throw them out?

Patch other knicks to save $$$?
    Strainer? (Mmmm)
    Maybe something for the garden?
    Slingshot?

Okay, silly question, but cyclists are usually nuts so who knows what
you have used old knicks for.. I am curious.

Use them for private roller sessions (of course!)
And hope you don't have to answer the door...

    bike polishing rag
tie em together and make a hammock
use em under your longs if the chamois is still there...
(just dot commute that way and think "Gee, its warm this arvo. I wont need the longs!" the inevitable call from HR will follow...)

Winter time, wear them under your longs. Save your good knicks for summer.

I like to hang on to them for years becuase you never know when you
might find a use for them. And then after 6 years or so, reluctantly
throw them away because I partially accept that I will never _actually_
    use them again.

    Simple answer!
Wear them under your field hockey shorts (in my case) /skirt, because
the gaps and holes in your knicks are mostly near your boy (in my case)
/girl bits, which are covered by your field hockey shorts (see above)/skirt.

I'll just get back in my box... except when I wake up to watch the gold
    medal match 3:30 am!!!!

Hmmm... It is somewhat odd being part of an Australian sport men and
womens' (sub)culture (yes, relevant: it's like cycling) where we (except
for now!) just don't give a damn what the national mens team does but
live and die with the national womens team's fortunes... (only 5th
place? Oh, Aussie girls... my hockey stick has gone all limp now... )

<gets very, very thoroughly back in his box>
