Have you noticed that the time spent in the grocery store is a lot less?
I

finding I'm not buying them as much as I used to.

Ironically, I actually spend *more* time in the grocery store and also spend
more money on food for meals eaten at home (but undoubtedly eat less overall
because now I do all of my own cooking). The explanation, in my case, is
that I used to survive almost exclusively on the following: (1) pick up
fast food; (2) buy frozen meals to cook at home; (3) call in for take-out
orders or home delivery of pizzas. Now I cook all my own meals except for
the rare occasions when I eat out with friends, and I am incorporating a
variety of fresh veggies, fresh fruit, lean meat, natural unsalted nuts
(much harder to locate than the salted, roasted nuts that I used to eat),
and low-fat cheeses (again, harder to locate). So, I unfortunately have not
had the same experience of reducing time in the grocery store -- but I am
eating healthier, losing weight, feeling better, and have had very good BG
results.
Back to what the OP said: Yes, I used to buy candy almost anywhere I
went! -- grocery store, pharmacy, even when I was sitting in the hair
stylist's salon waiting to have my hair done. I have not eaten a piece of
candy (or any other dessert other than fresh fruit) since I was diagnosed in
early June. I also do not feel deprived in any way.
