What was it? I think it was just finding out your current GR without having to set a waypoint. It really is dead easy, but I'd need to get the Etrex to remember what buttons to press.
On the compass page just keep pressing the up or down buttons until the location is shown.
Yes, that's it. It's the page which has the time/date on the bottom of it. Press the up/down buttons, on the left hand side, up and down until you see the GR.

(And I'm not in the mood at the mo' because off work with a cold. Feeling really sorry for myself. Actually got an appt to see the Doctor in 45 mins.)
Its no good being off work when you feel poorly!
We've had blizzard sleet here all day, so at least I don't feel like I'm wasting a day off!

OK, thanks. Now that I've actually found the thing (how is it possible to lose the yellow peril?) I may as well start using it again. -- All the best to everyone in 2005 - Fran

Poor ol' you. I've always reckoned I'd be able to cope with new moanier more than I cope with a clod - I absolutely *hate* the hooters. GWS so you can get out and blow some cobwebs away. If it ever stops raining, that is :-( -- All the best to everyone in 2005 - Fran

even easier on the newer ones: just toggle screens until you get the satellite acquisition screen and its on there.

Now you'll be able to get to Llyn-y-Fan Fawr on the DRY route :-)
... which won't be nearly as much fun as the other one :-)
You must have passed VERY close to the source of the River Tawe - something I must do some time.
Close to it? I could've sworn I was /in/ it! -- All the best to everyone in 2005 - Fran
