We have a lot of threads about "is this still good? It has been in my
refrigerator for two months, and I am not sure I should eat it."
I don't understand this. I am not wasteful with food, I look at what I have
in perishables that I need to use up when planning menus, and we eat up or
freeze leftovers before cooking again. But I don't eat cooked foods that
have been in my fridge longer than 4 days max, and I don't keep uncooked
meats in the fridge more than two days. Of any kind. I just don't WANT old
food.
Even if a boiled egg would not kill me after 11 days, I would not want to
eat it because it is not fresh.
Part of the goodness of cooking is that you can have fresh good.
