  1. Can anyone flex?

    Seriously.

Take my upper arms. Flaccid, they're maybe 16". Flexed, maybe 16 3/4".

What is up with that? I mean, they change shape, but not size. Same with
    quads, chest, etc.

How screwed up am I??? 🙂🙂

Anyone else notice this, or is this "normal" in lifters?

    Thanks.

    Brad

It's normal for me too. The only thing that grows significantly on my body
    is... well, nevermind.

    Sounds like you're flexing.

Looks like a size difference to me. What do you expect?

    Same

I have about the same arm measurements you do, and can definitely see a
size difference between relaxed and flexed.

Try this (it's a couple of steps but well worth it):
    1. Hold arm straight out in front of you, parallel to floor

    2. Make the "thumbs up" sign with your hand

    3. *Bend arm at the elbow until your thumb is almost (but not quite)
    touching shoulder
*Note: Keep upper arm parallel to floor

    4. Tilt head towards hand

    5. Insert thumb into mouth

    6. Blow until Bicep is desired size

Trust me this works, I've seen it done in cartoons all the time!

Where is the extra size supposed to spontaneously come from? Is it just
supposed to miraculously generate? Do you have a bicycle pump up yer bum
to supply air at those critical moments when posing in front of a mirror?

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

By flacid do you mean arm outstretched too ? Flexing shortens (and
    bunches up) the muscle.

haHAH! I want the muscles from the one episode of SpongeBob
SquarePants. The rest of him looks as it typically does, but he has
these inflatable arms that are ridiculously huge.

Brad, don't take these jesters seriously! *I've* got the REAL answer
for you. First, my info (1) and then the solution (2):

    (1) My unflexed arm measures 11" (no, that's not a typo). My flexed
bicep is 13". Two inches versus your pipsqueakish 3/4" (of course, I'm
ignoring your almost four inches of extra arm mass).

    (2) LOSE AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF MUSCLE MASS!

Yup. That should do the trick. Let's see. To get from a 16" bicep down
to 13"... fifteen or twenty pounds of lean muscle mass per inch. That'd
be about 50 or 60 lbs.

    START STARVING NOW!

    Glad to help.

    Doh ...

The way I had my screen sized, I could read to # 3 without scrolling.
So I followed the instructions to that point ...
Scrolled to # 4 and did that...
When I got to #5, it started to sound hinky, so I read ahead ...

    Bastid ... 😉

Good thing no one walked by my cubicle to watch.

See, that's the MAIN reason top posting is so despised. It can really ruin
