there'd be no way to catch him? No way!)

Golly, those crazy Democrats! How did they expect to beat us
with a candidate so cowardly, he didn't even have the guts to be a
draft-dodger! What a bunch of LOOOOOSERS! I'll tell you the problem

    TO EVERYONE ON THE PLANET

Please get out of the way while our son and his cronies steal
your oil, blow up your cities, raise the global temperature by 10
degrees, skyrocket the national debt, pollute like there's no
tomorrow, loot the treasury, pervert the justice system, rape the
national parks, hand out overinflated contracts to all our pals,
ignore real dangers and chase after phantoms, cheat in debates, steal
elections, gerrymander districts, turn the USA into one big church,
let North Korea and Iran get the bomb, let Osama bin Laden off the
hook, tell women in need of health care to pray harder, fix social
security by skyrocketing the price of flu vaccines and prescription
drugs, and generally bungle everything they touch. LOOKIN GOOD!

Oh, by the way, don't forget: Uncle Sam needs you! Free
    one-way tickets to Baghdad!

    Most sincerely, George and Bar

Yup. Face it, George Bush and company beat the pants off Kerry and
company. Based on the interviews I've seen with insiders in both
campaigns, Kerry's campaign was pitifully managed until the last month,
and Kerry himself could never finalize a decision.

Face it -- your candidate got shrubbed, ah, I mean drubbed.

I blame that overgarment he was wearing on election day. It looked like
a car coat from the 70s.

Hardly, but he did have enough of a margin to make it clear who won,
and IMHO that was a good thing. A repeat of Florida was not needed.

You mean Kerry didn't have a vicious and manipulative sociopath to run
    his campaign for him?

Beaten, yes. Drubbed, hardly. Bush's victory was weak at best for a
President embroiled in a war. He should have walked away with a
landslide victory, but his obvious incompetence and extremist
right-wing views kept that from happening. Only a small portion of
the populace was fooled this time. There's a lesson in that for the
Republicans, just as their is for the Democrats. Better luck with Jeb
    in 2008.

Given the animosity towards Bush and the potential for a good candidate
with a good campaign to unseat him, I still say Bush beat the pants off
    Kerry.

That's an easy excuse, but no, that's not what I mean.

Here's a start on Newsweek's inside report on the campaigns. Based on
what I've read and seen, Bush's team whupped Kerry's, and Kerry was not
    much help.

The Dems had better run a better campaign and a better candidate, or
there will be another Republican in the White House in 2008.

In all honesty, I don't think they will. The Democrats will not have
gotten over their identity crisis by then because they have no
effective leadership. They've taken big money every bit as eagerly as
the Republicans in the past 5 years, with the result that they've been
co-opted into being the moderate wing of the Republican Party.

And who do they have that is or will be a viable candidate? Hilarity
Clinton? I don't think so, she couldn't win due to her personality
and baggage. She shouldn't even try. She may not even get re-elected
to the Senate. Lieberman? Nope, he's one of worst of the identity
crisised Dems. Dean? Unstable. Edwards? Maybe but I don't think he
can pull it off. Biden? That might be interesting- he can at least
cut to the chase and he handled Ashcroft better than just about
    anyone. Obama in 2016 maybe.

Unless things go to hell in a handbasket and the Republicans manage to
discredit themselves massively (e.g. De Lay's influence peddling
catches up with him and is linked to Bush, or Wall Street collapses
under the economic strains Bushco has created), they'll be in the
White House until at least 2012. I think that'll be about as long as
the electorate will let them have it before voting for a change of
party rather than of person. The pendeluum swings...

Sheesh, if I wanted an idiot in office I'd have voted for Bush.
