[censored] for brains has got it wrong again - Las Vegas has a greater
population
than Atlanta, New Orleans, Cleveland, Kansas City , Miami, Minneapolis,
St
Louis.- all have major leaque teams
Lee, you are a waste of time!
Poor David, are you feeling neglected? Weren't you going to leave us?? Oh
yeah, that's right, you are a pathological liar.
OK David, I know that you have phobias concerning expertise, but I do biz
research. Some of my clients are baseball fans. They appreciate it when I do
a little background research now and again. So I keep my eyes and ears open
for baseball info.
ALL of the facts that listed above were considerations for major League
Baseball when the commisioner's office was deciding to hand out new or
transfer franchises. The above info was presented out of the context of both
baseball and business considerations.
Because Las Vegas has so many options for entertainment, the population
available for baseball is much smaller than another city that does not have
the competition with other entertainment venues. This combined with the fact
that there isn't much television audiences out in the desert.
So ALL the facts I presented are important considerations for both owners
and MLB. I noticed that you didn't make any comments about any of the other
points I raised. You obviously are not capable of making any kind of
logical or coherent argument.
Go back to kissing Hudson's ass. That is what you are best at.
And I wrote this thing weeks ago. What kind of pathetic loser searches for
posts weeks in the past to conjure up insults? Are the voices starting to
bother you again?
I was curious why David would have posted to the Group with inaccurate
information, so despite having no interest in Baseball or US
demographics, I did a little research of my own.
The results would prove that David was substantially correct:
Michaels stated that Las Vegas has too small a population to support a
major league baseball team
Hanson said:
Atlanta is ranked 11 in population
Cleveland 23
Kansas City 26
Miami 6
Twin Cities 16
St. Louis 18
and Las Vegas 36
And posted by way of support a population table dated 2000:
http://www.census.gov/population/cen2000/phc-t29/tab03b.pdf
David asserted:
All cities listed have less population than Las Vegas and yet the
others all have major league baseball teams.
My own search produced a population table dated 2003:
http://www.citypopulation.de/USA.html
Which contains updated figures thus:
Las Vegas 517,000
St Louis 332,000
Atlanta 423,000
Cleveland 461,000
Kansas City 442,000
Miami 376,000
Given the updated populations, David was indeed correct when he said
"all cities listed have less population than Las Vegas and yet the
others all have major league baseball teams"!!
I submit this trivia in the memory of a good chum, who is sadly
missed, and who was not in the habit of posting [censored]!!
I hope that sets the record straight Mr Michaels!! ;o)
