There was a Border Collie doing Striding Edge on Saturday. I didn't
see how it got down the last scrambly bit ...... but it overtook me

With difficulty I should think. I didn't see anything but I overheard a
conversation the gist of which was that a dog (presumably said collie)
had come partly out of its harness and panicked a bit. We passed a dog
going the other way as well. IIRC some sort of terrier. Its owner had to
give it a helping hand as we passed on one of the gentler difficulties.

He's disappeared from here and although he popped up briefly
elsewhere a while back he hasn't been seen there again either.

I saw this. The human was climbing up (after Striding Edge) and then
coaxing the collie into following him. The dog was on a lead and
wearing a harness. I saw that the harness had come undone and that
the man was now tugging on a lead which wasn't attached to the dog.

He anxiously (but calmly) told the doggy to stay where it was while he
climbed down and refastened the harness. I couldn't decide whether
the dog would be better off off the lead or strapped in. But I
suppose it *is* a National Park and rules is rules!

Dunno about that, but if I was in a situation where a slip or fall might
cause me serious injury, I'd rather not be attached to a boisterous BC
while I do it. He's got four wheel drive and lightning reflexes and is
much more capable at going up and down hills than I am.

However I am considering taking Magic's harness (the one I use in the
car) to Ben Nevis, just in case.
