Off Anywhere Exciting This Summer?

Lake District in three weeks time for a weeks walking. Really looking
forward to getting back onto the mountains again.

More relaxing time in September, off to Kenya for 3 weeks. First, visiting
family friends in Nairobi/Rift Valley region for a few days, then slob out
down the coast at the Nyali Beach hotel for 10 days. I know its going to be
pure hell!

Just come back from a weeks paragliding in Olu Deniz, Turkey. Where
else can you driver to the top, take off and fly over the sea with over
a mile of fresh air beneath your legs?

Managed sun-burn in 30+C heat, rain, and hailstones all on the same day,
at the 1700m take off. Sound a little like Scotland :-)

Nowhere really. I can take a holiday this month but won't get holiday pay.
That starts in July and I can't get time off until September when I'm going
to finish the coastal part of the Cleveland Way.
If I think about it I could take a 3 day break in Wales or somewhere....

other side of big events at work (Lab open day especially) in October.

Two weeks in the Pyrenees on 30th June and I have my wife's permission but
she's not looking forward to walking the dog while I'm away!

Hopefully, either Crete, Cyprus, Spain or France for about a week and then
Ireland in September..

Well , we are a bit restricted because the idea of going over is for a big
family get together in Waterford(where apparently we originate from) but as
luck would have it, we have booked a cottage in Dungarvan, which seems to be
the walking focal point of the whole region. I expect there may be an
attempt on Galtymore and a few walks around the Knockmealdowns and
Comeraghs. There ia quite a lot of nice low-level stuff too along the
Blackwater valley.

I'd already done a bit of Kerry and I'd recommend that to anyone, especially
if the sun is up.

The Pyrenees for two weeks in August. First week will be on the GR10,
second week t.b.c. but maybe heading back to the starting point on the GR11.

It'll be my first walking holiday abroad too :-)
