  1. Hi guys, I'm mostly a lurker and have been for awhile. I've been familiar
with LCing for almost 3 years. I've had success in the pass but always
found an excuse to return to the dark side. I'm back on track now and I
think the monthly challenge is what I need to help keep going. But now that
Carol Ann is busy with life, it might not happen. 🙁

Good news is, I have all the necessary resources to take over this duty if I
can get some participants. I know we're halway into October already, but
lets make it a half-October challenge, or even if you know your stats when
from the start of October, that's OK also.

Once I get things rolling, I could have a webpage up by tonight. Updating
daily isn't a problem either. Once I have something up, I'll post the link
    to the page.

So come on guys/gals, lets get the party started. Send me your details for
October and let the challenge begin.

Ray, thank you soooooo much for stepping up!!! I have been hosting the
Challenges since 2001 and can tell you that they have slowed down a great
deal since I do not actually participate. New blood (or fresh meat) is what
    this Challenge needs!!

It would be nice if we could use the website I already created (just because
so many non ASDLC members like to visit).

Let me know how you would like to work it out. You could send me your html
for the page and I could upload it (the graph with the Challengers).

Each day (or whenever you update) you can send me the html and I can upload
    it.

If you have a better idea, please let me know. I can also add a section
above the chart for your daily input (if you want to speak directly to the
    Challengers on the page).

Congrats on being back on track. I hope to be there, soon.

  8. Ray,

Can you get my current stats from my sig line? Put me down for a goal of 5
pounds, starting at 195 for the beginning of October. I'm getting into the
TOM/water weight gain time, so it's still a challenge for me.

  13. Thanks Lybbe. I did Bernstein last year for about 3 months and it worked
great except it put me in the poor house and I didn't feel that good in the
long run. I think it was the fact that a 800-900 calorie a day thing wasn't
    agreeing with me.

BTW, you forgot to tell me what your October goal is for your stat.

Sorry - forgot the goal - I'm shooting for 15 pounds.

When I first googled Bernstein I got a lot of conflicting stories
about exactly how much food is allowed. Most of the stories were
    second-hand - eg 'my sister-in-law's cousin...' Right now - I'm at
about 1200 calories per day - and my carbs are low enough to keep me
in ketosis. I feel good - in fact, better than I have felt in years.
I've done Atkins, and portion control was a problem for me. I could
eat a pound of butter without batting an eyelash...lol Bernstein hits
me where it hurts - in the wallet. No freakin' way will I cheat when
I'm spending this much cash. It boils down to a health issue for me -
although i'm in excellent health - carrying around an extra 100 pounds
is not good for me. I want it gone - and if Bernstein gives me the
kickstart I need - good on 'em. I have found that discussing issues
with the doctor - such as tiredness and muscle cramps have given me
some 'extras.' I'm paid until Christmas - if I find at that time that
the weight isn't falling as fast as i think it should - or if i start
to feel unwell - I'm out.
