I was just checking out the new MSN home page. It's been re-vamped to
compete with Google. On the left side of the page you have the opportunity
to check the White Pages. Type in your name. For one member of this
newsgroup, I not only got the address and phone number, but I was provided
with a map as well. You'll also get the age of the person you a searching
for, relatives, their age,(whether they live in the same location or not)
plus directions and prices for obtaining a complete background
check--criminal record, sex offenses, liens, you name it. Now I know all
this stuff was available before, but you had to at least have a clue how to
go about it. Now anyone can point and click and pay up with a credit card
and rummage through your life.

Same here. I come up with the right name, address and phone number but the
map shows me living a mile or so away from where I really live.Excite has had the ability to do this sort of look-up for a long time, and
the maps on Excite are correct.-Mike

If nothing else, it cuts down on the sales calls. Once I got enhanced
caller ID with anonymous call blocking, all the phone calls asking for money
or selling aluminum siding and windows stopped. -

phone number. However, even if they got our address correct, it
wouldn't really help as our address was arbitrarily assigned, doesn't
follow the pattern on the street, and cannot be gotten to from the main
street without specific knowledge and directions.Regards,

Same here, but the Public Records power search (on the same page)
claims to have not only my phone number, but my address, and among
other things, lists my age! And for only $50, you can find out:"current & previous addresses, alias names, roommates, relatives,
family members, marriage, divorce, neighbors, property ownership,
legal judgments & more personal profile info."That's just creepy, even if it is all taken from public records...

I have to agree. Talk about your one stop stalker shopping! Perhaps
they won't last long though. I think an expensive lawsuit or two from
someone (or the family of someone) who gets hurt or killed when a
psycho uses their service to procure information might stop them.
Sheesh, I think about a friend of mine with an crazy ex and get the
shivers. I also notice that they will not allow you to opt out of
being searchable.Regards,

I signed up for the New York State one as it was available first. I
figured that I'd sign up for the National one as well. No more
