Diabetes is a disease that affects fat metabolism as well
as sugar. The reason why we call it diabetes mellitus is
that too much blood sugar causes you do pee a lot (that is
what diabetes means) and the pee is full of sugar
(mellitus refers to sugar). So the obvious thing to look
for is blood sugar.
Anyway, because diabets affects blood sugar and fat
metabolism, this is something you shoudl discuss with your
doctors and nutritionists. Plus, some of the side effects
of diabetes include kidney damage. The kidneys remove
excess urea from the blood. Urea is a byproduct of eating
meat. If you have any kidney problems, your diet could
affect your kidneys.
I think you'll be fine with your diet, though.
