Quoted message said:I wear Shimano mountain bike shoes with SPD recessed cleats. My pedals
are Shimano pd-m959. It's a road bike.
My Shimano mountain bike shoes are good for only about 20 miles before I get
numb feet or hot spots. I only use these shoes for commuting -- the distance
is short enough that I don't get problems, and the recessed cleats are a
tremendous advantage.
I have a pair of road shoes (also with SPD cleats) for longer rides. They
are Specialized brand, and have a much bigger toe box than the commuter
shoe. These are fine for longer rides, but the shoes are very difficult to
walk in.
