    A silk balaclava. Seriously good kit.

    I use an old motorcycle underhelmet, which covers the throat as well, weighs
    next to nothing, folds up into next to nothing but doesn't let any heat or
    wind through ... awesome ... 😉

    I got completely the wrong idea until I read 'under lid head warmer'. I
    was about to recommend adjusting the tilt on your saddle!

    Briko do skullcaps with ear flaps that work OK, or you could dispense
    with the PFDB and wear a balaclava. Recent controled trials[1] have
    indicated that this every bit as warm and interferes less with your
    hearing.

    [1] Sample of one rider and about ten rides :-)
