My daughter has a Sardar and regularly covers 60 miles in a day _easily_.
At 14 she rode it for the LEJOG complete with camping equipment.

It is an excellent bike and would have thought it ideal for the riding
    suggested.

I enjoyed your website on the trip. Very impressive feat

Just read the first few pages and it brings back memories of my first
solo tour - doing west penwith on a bent racer (no, not recumbent, bent
as in twisted) with silly gears (42/52 x 6 speed 13-30), tent, cooking
gear etc. I took far too much and pushed too hard but still had a
    brilliant time.

The wettest part of the trip was the same ferry crossing at Fowey, low
tide and tryign to manouveur a fully laden bike down seaweed covered
steps wearing look cleats was interesting..

    back to read some more.

  2. With your weight it might be best to get something custom made - maybe scaffolding tube would be appropriate for the frame. :p

    Plus some bracing wires perhaps?

If you are as heavy as you say, and not a mere 200 lbs as I suspect, you
will probably need special wheels with a high spoke count and definitely
should consult a good wheel builder.

Standard MTB wheels (at least DH, 36 spoke) should be fine. There are
plenty of tandem teams of similar weight.
