Well it would have been even less but for bad navigation on my part, and signage (the councils part).
Went from London to Birmingham on Saturday, a lot colder than I expected. Not done an imperial century in a very long time (10+ years), but with minimal preperation (I run a bit and commute to work by bike 15 miles a day), it all went rather well. Fortunatley no punctures, and surprising lack of lumpy bits, meant that the 122.5 miles was covered in a total time of 9:45, riding time of 8:45 (14mph average).
So since I haven't done any long ditance riding for a long time, how does this rate for a beginner? I'm thinking of doing a couple of 200's later in the year (including Dunwich), and I must say given they way I felt, maybe a 300. So how much faster do I have to get in order to be considered OK? :-)
