Oh, the legally usable music? The best source is Creative Commons
(anything licensed as "non-commercial" use in some way should be
acceptable for your purposes) licensing, now popular among various indie
artists.

I also grabbed and remixed Trent Reznor's "Only" from his website, but
was only middling happy with it.

The first movie's song, "Re Your Brains" was courtesy Jonathan Coulton,
Musical Genius (jonathancoulton.com). He just completed his epic Thing A
Week project, so he's put 52 songs out in the last year.

I might try experimenting with some early out-of-copyright or public
domain songs, too.

Now, I must know: where do I get a talking chimp?

This is the 1,258th movie that has used that damned song by Smash Mouth.
I was going to criticize the video as "unoriginal" on that basis until
the commentary on "Corey" coinciding with the "Go for the moon" bit made
it clear that the song was necessary to advance the plot.

This has all the elements of classic cinema: fine acting, interesting
character development, a good script and a talking monkey. I give it 3
thumbs up.

Do you have code words to communicate with the camera man? "Would you
like to tell us a little about your bike" seemed to communicate
something worthwhile to the camera man in a pretty effective way.

I can say, mercifully, that I was none of the three people involved in
that particular sequence. I just did the editing.

My favourite scene was probably this one:
