missed the time limit by 41 seconds, and is out.
    What a shame.

It's so hard to ride when you arn't drafting. Some just can't do it,
unless they are holding on to the car door of their support vehicle, or they
don't have 40 riders in front, breaking the wind for them.

Elaborate, please. Why doesn't the curse affect LA?

Sounds like a good title for a horror movie. Right up there with
    "Masters Fatties in Lycra".

From Maillot Jaune to Maillot Gone in less than 48 hours. I've been

Apparently getting your hands on the yellow jersey is bad luck for
    CSC.

It's possible that Armstrong will be the only person at the end to
    have worn the thing.

Because Lance could outcuss any curse? Also, since I've heard that
"there's nothing but queers and steers in Texas" and Lance is obviously
the head steer here, even partially castrated, I guess that makes him
    the meanest toughest SOB too!!
Curses are for queers and people from Massachusetts, and we KNOW which
    they are, right?

Most of that [censored] is really hillarious, what scares me is the people
who believe it. The guys from Oklahoma, used to insist the Texans were
obviously queer, and the Texans as usual claimed to be the baddest
bulls on the planet. The only thing both groups could agree on is that
people from Mass, and Cali. were obviously commie-pinko-[censored]. Most of
these people were in the Rodeo Club though so all the blows to the head
might've just made them a little abnormal.

    ....

Jens Voigt is an excellent time-trialist. He can certainly ride
effectively alone.. it wasn't that. He was going to tank, of course,
because he can't climb like the mountain goats, but I would never have
expected him to miss the time cut. That just sucks.

This is certainly not a problem for Jens Voigt, under more normal
conditions. Clearly, his effort to limit his losses to Armstrong
yesterday sapped much of his considerable power.

I remember entire conversations that consisted of nothing but mail-order
    insults. Like so:

Guy from Texas: "The only thing from Philadelphia is steers and queers
and you don't got no horns."

Guy from Philly: "That must be your ass talking, 'cause your mouth knows
    better."

....followed by a long series of "Your momma was so ugly..."

I was like "How long can these guys go without even TRYING to say
    something original?"

Yep that's the stuff. The sad thing is that I'd bet that either one of
us could put easily put together at least 15 minutes of it from memory.
Why is it that stupid stuff like that sticks so long?
Thanks for the additional info you posted on Keith too.

Classic examples of stereotyping and ignorance, right?

As opposed to this, which is a classic example of an astute sociological
    observation, right?
